Imagine being the best version of yourself in every moment. Imagine no longer having to wear a mask and pretend but rather getting to be your true, authentic self. Imagine being completely free of stress, anxiety, and worry. Imagine finally silencing your harsh inner critic. All of this, and more, is possible when you consult with a mindset coach.
You may think coaches are only for a senior manager looking to level up in their careers or only for people who have experienced extreme trauma. The truth is that this is really not the case.
While I do offer executive coaching for those looking to excel in the workplace, life coaching is for everyone.
No matter who you are, what your life story is, or where you are in this journey called life, you need a mindset coach.
We all have limiting beliefs, we all have fears, and we all go through times when we lack the motivation to heal. You don’t need to be ‘broken’ or suffer from low confidence and low self-esteem to meet with a life coach.
So, what is a mindset coach? And how can you benefit from seeing one? I’m so glad you asked! Keep reading to find out more.
What is a mindset coach?
Let me start out by saying our mindset is everything. It’s what drives us, it’s what determines our thoughts every minute of every day, and it impacts how we act and react.
Defining a coach
A mindset coach is an objective person – meaning they aren’t your friends or family – who can help you shift your mindset and unlearn negative patterns so that you can have a healthy mindset that helps you cope with whatever life throws your way.
Mindset coaches use tools and techniques to gain a deeper understanding and insight into how you think and how you present yourself in the world – real or not. We then apply specific practices to help you change your mindset and, as a result, your life.
If you’ve ever found yourself thinking, “there’s got to be more to life than this” or “I’ve tried everything, and it’s just not getting better,” mindset coaching is most likely the best thing for you.
No miracles involved
Now, I don’t profess to be this magical fairy who swoops in and miraculously changes your life. Nope, not exactly.
In my version of mindset coaching, you are going to have to put in work to see results. While I have a whole load of tricks up my sleeve to help you be the best you can be, you’ll also need to put in some effort to see a real change. But not to worry, I’m here to guide you every step of the way!
What does life coaching include?
Not all life coaching is created equal. Some life coaches base their work simply on their own life experiences. Other life coaches take all kinds of courses and earn certificates in different techniques to be able to help their clients. For these reasons, I can’t tell you exactly what a particular life coaching programme would include. What I can tell you is what my version of coaching involves.
A holistic approach is key
I truly and wholeheartedly believe that a holistic approach is the best possible solution. Simply going for a few therapy sessions or trying hypnosis once or twice isn’t going to make much of a difference. But when you get help from someone who can offer a full spectrum of solutions that can be tailored to your specific circumstances, you have a much higher chance of success.
My version of life coaching includes psychotherapy, advisory practices, neuroscience, mentoring, and consulting. There’s also a little sprinkling of something that simply can’t be taught in coaching manuals: observation. I believe this holistic blend of techniques is the best possible recipe to get you from stuck to a breakthrough in just a few sessions.
Empathy and understanding
I’m a natural empath, and I bring that with me into my work. Many executive mentors will present themselves as if they’ve done everything better than you have. Many life coaches will ask you endless questions until you find the answers yourself. Some coaches will simply nod their heads and listen to your woes. Because I lead with empathy and understanding, I’m none of these things.
I often speak to clients who have avoided life coaching for years because they’ve been scared that the coach simply won’t understand their specific problems. Or that they’ll feel judged. I’ve spent thousands of hours coaching hundreds of clients, and I can tell you for sure that there’s no problem I haven’t heard. And even if it’s brand new to me, I will always treat you with compassion and care (while being honest enough to push through the barriers).
How can I benefit from a mindset coach?
How can you benefit from life coaching? Uh, can you benefit from a 20-day holiday in Bora Bora?
When people ask me what they would get out of mindset coaching, my answer is simple: change.
I’ll help you change your thought patterns, mindset, and limiting beliefs so that you can overcome things like shame, self-doubt, self-sabotage, and fear of failure. These are all things I’ve experienced in my own life, and they’re things I’d like to help you with.
We all have blind spots. Things within ourselves that we just don’t see. These undiscovered aspects of ourselves are often what’s holding us back. I help you uncover who you are at your worst so that we can discover who you can be at your very best.
Life coaching will enlighten you, transform you, and give you insight into yourself and your journey so that you can live the life you deserve.
How does life coaching work?
Now that you understand what I do and how I do it, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. How does working with me as your coach work?
Most life coaches offer programmes that have been designed to help clients walk through several steps. After spending many years as a mindset coach, I’ve learned that these programmes don’t provide my clients with the journey that they need. That’s because you are a unique individual, and you need a unique approach.
Stop being stuck
The first step to my coaching is always the same (more on that in a moment), but the rest of my time with you will be us working through a series of techniques that have been tailored to your specific needs.
I like to call our first session together the ‘Stop Being Stuck Breakthrough Session’. This is where I help identify and reprogramme any limiting beliefs you may have, eliminate your fears, and provide you with the motivation and momentum you need for real change to happen. This programme lasts half a day and can happen in person or virtually (thanks, Covid!), followed by a session at the end of the week and a 20-minute hypnosis for you to listen to at home.
The remainder of the journey
By this point, we will have uncovered what you need in terms of support and direction, and I’ll be able to formulate a bespoke path for us to walk together to help you find real change in your life.
